Founder Chip Wilson spent 20 years merchandising surf, skating, and snowboarding gear before he found his passion. He didn’t like the athletic clothing at the time so he opened up a design studio that functioned as a yoga studio at night. Although Lululemon was initially created to be a single store, the popularity of their first location forced them to grow into the success that they are today.
